The Invisible Line

Yesterday I had the immense privilege of finally breaking down the barrier between blogger and real, beating heart. And I couldn't have thought of a better occasion than AnySara's wedding. I had never met her before, and only known her, like you, through our blogs. But the personal touch was there, the shared simcha real. I met other bloggers, The Tailor and BlogBlond, there as well. And all I can say is how amazingly real our connection was.

But I don't want to get caught up in the amazement of putting live flesh to the personalities I already know well. The shining star of the evening truly was the joy of the bride and groom. It was the real deal, not tarnished in the least by any of the trimmings that end up overshadowing so many weddings. The guests were truly a diverse crowd, each bringing their own unique connection to the bride and groom. But yet the entire room meshed into one to celebrate the truly holy matrimony that united us.

I took a bunch of pictures, and I hope to share some after receiving the necessary approvals.

Mazel tov!!!
By the way, I am sooo curious to see what The Tailor looks like, because I have this picture in my head ... early 20s, thin, sandy-haired, black hat, adorably sweet face, chizzeled bone structured ... am I even close?

PC - You should definitely NOT be offended. I was very disappointed that we were not introduced. Such a frum wedding! You may have seen me, but unfortunately, I don't know you any better today than last week. I guess I have to come in again!

E - Actually, yes, but I'll have to get The T's permission before I show off the amazing(ly incriminating) pictures I have of him!

soooooo cool

How sweet! Mazel Tov!

pc- you'll hopefully get another chance when josh comes for shabbos after pesach!

erica- not at all!- except for the black hat and possibly sweet face...

elster-don't worry, since i think she and soulmate plan to continue the blog with updates from their beautiful new home in paradise- as soon as she gets settled in...

and for all of the josh-fans out there: he is actually even cuter in person, if you can possibly believe that! AND he made the chossen and kallah soooooooooooooo happy by being there!

mazel tov to all of you!! i know both anysara and soulmate have been really touched by all of the outpouring of love from all of you over the course of this whole saga!

mazel tov!
Josh-it's funny, cause I sort of know you through your blog, and I'm gonna be in chicago soon. Maybe I should say hi!!

MH and FG - Definitely! It's cool just meeting somebody you've gotten to know online. It's fabulous sharing in their very real Simcha.

Elster - The course of blogs seems to be a very pertinent issue right now. Whether Anysara (and you) maintain your blogs is not the question. That we all find the right channel to direct our creative energy is. And that doesn't always ebb and flow with the needs of blog readers, but in my mind, with out the blog writer fully inspired, the whole exercise is too routine to prove much use anyways. That being said, I hope you're inspired soon! It's tough to be creative and feel all dry, especially with so many people following along online!

BB - Thanks for handling everything on my blog while I was at work. Hope Sheva Berachos are going well. How cute are your kids? How in style are goatees in your community?

Okee - Funny, because I'll be in New York this weekend. Even though I don't have a wedding here to invite you to, a la Anysara, I can tell you it is a riot attaching a real person to a blogger ID. I'd be more than happy to meet up, but even if you're shy, I always do airport runs!

T- You're all that and a bag of chips.

I guess you should update your "Bloggers I Know" section. The tailor needs to be moved up a few notches, Blogblobnd most likely qualifies to be moved up to the top - (she is in my books), Anysara definetly requires an upgrade.

It was great to meet you - look forward to having you for shabbos soon.

I expect you here with a goatie..... but who knows I may have a long beard and payos by then too.......

blogbrit

Tailor ... while I'd love to wqunech the curiosity i have, I must say, you have a darling [if not a little excitable], passionate personality ... and if you chose not to broadcast the zisa-ness of your punim, well, I'll try to live with that.
Josh ... your punim, on the otherhand is like ... SO NOT A SECRET! And we're all the better for having the priviledge of seeing it everyday.

BB - I will (BN) update my blog roll. However, the "Bloggers I Know" section is reserved for people I knew from before blogging, so even BB is beyond that. Maybe I'll have to create a fourth category. Any suggestions?

Okee - ;)

Erica - Did I mention yet that I love the new pic? And that I haven't commented on your blog in TOO long, but I still read it almost every day? I feel so bad, I've been in a crazy commenting slump all around, but I've been keeping up on everyone's blog. I feel like the friend who never speaks directly to his friends, but justs asks mutual friends how his other friends are doing instead of contacting them directly.

T - I don't like being mysterious. Then again, maybe I am hiding something.

T - It's funny, for me blogging is a place where I can bare my soul to the world, in a way that I wouldn't otherwise. But to you, it's a place to hide what is normally hidden. That is a very cool divergence.

Hey Josh,

Apparently Ali was at Anysara's Shabbos Kallah.

We were in Detroit that weekend and she went to visit a friend Shabbos afternoon. This friend took Ali along to the Shabbos Kallah of someone Ali didn't know, but who fits Anysara's description of herself on her blogs, and who was to move to Victoria shortly after the wedding.

Small world. I wish I'd known you were there. Although you have a habit of popping into and out of cities for weddings within the same day, so we probably wouldn't have gotten together.

S - I have confirmed that you guys did pop in on the special weekend. You can now say you are one of the bloggers who actually touched AnySara's special life. Of course, we didn't get to see each other. I was only in town for a few hours, just for the wedding, but I definitely would have made a trip to see you guys if you were still there Sunday afternoon. Simchas!
